Raindrops pelt the gutters
just outside the bedroom window.
We’re lying so close together
your breathing sounds like the shore
and our feet are tied in a knot.
I don’t ever plan on experiencing
weather separate from you.
Let us spread our leaves to the rain,
into each other.
