weather - devon neal

Raindrops pelt the gutters

just outside the bedroom window.

We’re lying so close together

your breathing sounds like the shore

and our feet are tied in a knot.

I don’t ever plan on experiencing

weather separate from you.

Let us spread our leaves to the rain,

into each other.

Devon Neal (he/him) is a Kentucky-based poet whose work has appeared in many publications, including HAD, Livina Press, The Storms, and The Bombay Lit Mag, and has been nominated for Best of the Net. He currently lives in Bardstown, KY with his wife and three children.
